Heidi's Story

I have always been a part of a church since I was a little girl.  I grew up next door to a church.  No matter how many times I may have tried to run away I always came back to church.  Through all the years of going to church, I never volunteered until 09/09/2017.  It was my very first time volunteering at any church.  I have always wanted to and it has always laid heavy on my heart to volunteer however, I never thought I was good enough, I did not think I was Christian enough to volunteer.  I thought I had to come more, know more and be more.   Finally, I just said yes and I asked to volunteer in the coffee shop.  My first weekend in the coffee shop was so amazing, not only did making coffee come natural; the feeling from getting to serve others was an energy spike that I have never experienced.   It was like having a four shot espresso with a red bull chaser and then some.  I wish I had volunteered sooner and said YES to God sooner.  The more I say YES to him the more I am blessed and desire to say YES to him.
